HIGH STREET LOW STREET
Street Photography of Seoul by Dayv Mattt
2008-2011
The design is complete! However, I can’t afford to just pay up front to get it done so I have decided to see if I’d have enough pre-orders to help pay the printing cost. If you know you’re going to buy a copy please let me know via a ‘reply’, ask, or an email (dmatte at gmail). I don’t really want to set up a pre-order paypal page right now because if I don’t get enough interest, I’d lose money refunding everyone.
The book is 84 full bleed A3 (297x420mm) size pages. I don’t know the exact paper used because there is some weird Korean name for it (BAK MOJO?). It won’t be luxurious, but it will give the book the look and feel I want. The print run will be limited to 500 copies.
The price will be around $30 (plus shipping) (30,000won in Korea).
If you want 80 shots documenting the high streets and low streets of Seoul, let me know!
Be cool,
Dayv Mattt

Take us to Shinjuku pls.
Shinjuku
Cheap film at Kitamura camera, West Exit of Shinjuku station (and across from the burger king). 178 yen a roll (about $2.00 US) isn’t bad, but it used to be 100 yen a roll a year or two ago.
This Kitamura shop has a good used equipment selection up on the 4th floor. The bigger shop is in Akihabara across the street north of the Yodobashi Camera there.

I have only posted about OWS one other time. I just can’t let this go by.
This is what can happen to you and your body if you just show up, place your body somewhere that freaks out the establishment, and actively protest the problems inherent and rampant in the system. Holy fuck.
We owe it to this woman to look in her eyes, to see her face, to SEE her. We owe it to her to hold her gaze, to not move our eyes away because it is hard to look. We need to keep looking at her specifically BECAUSE it is hard to look.

Protesters, Police Clash in Oakland — Several scuffles broke out between protesters, one of whom is seen above, and tear-gas-wielding riot police near City Hall in Oakland, California, on Tuesday night after authorities dismantled the “Occupy Oakland” tent city.

In April, 1945, as Russian and German troops fought — savagely, street-by-street — for control of the German capital, it became increasingly clear that the Allies would win the war in Europe. Not long after the two-week battle ended, 33-year-old LIFE photographer William Vandivert was on the scene, photographing Berlin’s devasted landscape.
Hundreds of thousands perished in the Battle of Berlin — including untold numbers of civilian men, women, and children — while countless more were left homeless in the ruins. But it was two particular deaths — that of Hitler and his longtime companion and (briefly) wife, Eva Braun — in a sordid underground bunker on April 30, 1945, that truly signaled the end of the Third Reich. Here, LIFE.com presents never-before-published images from both the bunker itself, and the decimated city beyond its concrete walls.

Nearly ten years after the crippling terror attacks on Lower Manhattan, business, tourism, and new construction like One World Trade Center have rejuvenated the formerly devastated cityscape.
Pictured: The reflecting pools marking the footprints of the twin towers are seen as work continues at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center site on July 8, 2011.
Note: These images were made with a panoramic film camera and scanned into a digital file.
